Hi, and welcome to Debt, Van, Home.
A few years ago, I found myself facing almost £50,000 of debt and a difficult choice.
I could continue as I was and hope things somehow improved, or I could make some uncomfortable decisions and take responsibility for changing my situation.
I chose the second option.
One of those decisions was moving into a van.
Not because I wanted a life of endless travel, beach sunsets, or social media fame. I moved into a van because I wanted to tackle my debt, rebuild my finances, and give myself the best possible chance of eventually owning a home of my own.
This website documents that journey.
You’ll find articles about:
- Paying off debt
- Living in a van
- Rebuilding my finances
- Credit repair
- Side income projects
- Home ownership goals
- The lessons I’ve learned along the way
I’m not a financial adviser, and nothing on this website should be taken as financial advice.
I’m simply sharing my own experiences, successes, mistakes, and the decisions I’ve made in the hope that they might help someone else.
One thing that is important to me is that nobody should feel ashamed about their financial situation.
Debt can happen for many reasons, and it often feels far more isolating than it needs to be.
If you’re struggling with debt, trying to build a plan, or simply need someone who understands what it’s like, you’re welcome to get in touch.
I don’t charge, I don’t sell coaching programmes, and I don’t pretend to have all the answers. Sometimes people just need someone who will listen without judgement.
Whether you’re here because you’re interested in debt reduction, van life, personal finance, or simply following the story, thank you for visiting.
It’s likely to be a long road, so feel free to stick around.
